Studio Bellevue is rooted in a love of objects and materials that carry a story. Carefully sourced antique and vintage french advertising and typography, love letters, rosettes, cookery books - everyday forgotten fragments of the past are reimagined, reframed and provide a new presence.
This idea of preservation runs into Studio Bellevues textile work. Used artist cloth, bearing accidental marks, colours and traces of the creative process, are collected and transformed into one-of-a-kind tapestries. Celebrating the beauty found in age, imperfection and things that already exist, sometimes with a local play on words.
Across paper and cloth, Studio Bellevue gives overlooked materials (old and new) a second life creating pieces with history behind them and a new story ahead.
