Richard Knight describes himself as a resident tourist in London. After many years away from his farming roots he still gazes in wonderment at the compilation of light, buildings, figures and energy that make up a big city. His paintings aim to interpret that visual chaos and conformity in a modern impressionist manner of his own making; with layers of stencilled, colourful abstract marks in oil and acrylic combined with a natural observational drawing style which now extends to painting mechanical machines of every nature and putting them out of context, with untraditional colour or background.
