judy watts | Studio 412

Judy trained at London Fine Art Studios, developing a strong foundation in figurative painting and life drawing. She works primarily in oils, with a focus on landscape and still life.

Her landscapes are painted en plein air, directly from observation, often beginning with compositional sketches and, at times, supported by photographic reference. She draws inspiration from the ever changing qualities of light and sky, as well as the subtle rhythms and colour harmonies found in the natural world.

In her still life work, Judy creates carefully considered studio arrangements that explore composition and elevate everyday objects. Through thoughtful placement and controlled lighting, she establishes a sense of dialogue and movement, imbuing simple subjects with atmosphere, drama, and contemplative depth.

Judy also undertakes commissions, including landscapes, personal memories, and pet portraits, typically working from photographs. These pieces are often commissioned as meaningful and personal gifts.

Based in South West London, Judy has exhibited in group shows at Leighton House, Kensington; Hurlingham Club, Fulham; and the Prince & Pilgrim Gallery in Kew.
