Gina McSweeney trained in Fine Art at Winchester School of Art and Leeds University before working as a mural artist both in London and Hong Kong. Throughout she has continued to produce her own paintings.

In all of Gina’s work is a preoccupation with light and form. Her work explores familiar landscapes be it the changing seasons on Wimbledon Common or South Devon where she has visited every year since she was a child. She tries to capture the ‘feeling’ of a particular moment be it the light filtering through trees or the stillness of the last few moments of evening light on a quiet beach.

Intrigued by light she has also recently painted some vintage light bulbs trying to isolate the light source and to capture the rich glow.
