Fanny Roche is an emerging French abstract painter currently living and working in South London. With a background in design and architecture, she began painting in 2021 and has since developed an intuitive, expressive approach to abstraction.
Her paintings explore emotion, intuition and the freedom of making without a predetermined plan. Working mainly with acrylic and mixed media, Roche builds her paintings in layers, responding to what is already on the surface and allowing each work to unfold through the process.
Her architectural background has given her a strong natural sense of composition, colour and space, but her painting practice is also a way of moving away from the structure and constraints of architecture. She embraces spontaneity, experimentation and the unexpected, seeking a sense of rawness and energy in her work.
In addition to her personal art practice, Fanny leads small-group abstract painting workshops from her studio, welcoming participants of all levels to explore colour, intuition and self-expression in a relaxed and supportive environment
