Just Be Like Me by Andrew sales

£600.00

Artist: Andrew Sales
H: 51cm | W: 51cm

Oil on Wooden Panel

'Just Be Like Me' depicts figures of different ages surrounded by symbols of their internal thoughts and lives manifested around them. The painting refers to solipsism and how it is impossible to know other peoples minds. The aspect in the theory of solipsism questioning that only what your mind can perceive exists with anything outside being unreal is tackled in the painting. Each one of the figures is accompanied by a pool and tree, The pool symbolising the fluid creative nature of the mind and the tree representing memory and fixed thoughts. The objects around them including a snake and clock reference a specific experience that has physically manifested itself near to the figure. With the younger figure on the right being physically within the aspect of her creative pool of thought. The surrounding pattern represents the matrix of our existence and the unknown parts of the human experience.

Delivery may include additional charges. Please contact the artist to arrange it directly.
