This work was inspired by the journey my wife and I have been on together. The eyes are the most detailed part of the work, reflecting the experience of looking someone you love in the eye and the rest of the world melting into abstraction and emotion. The dog, in the foreground, symbolises companionship and loyalty.
The piece has a unique fabric frame made from strips of jacquard weave. The artwork is intentionally left unfinished to reflect the unfinished journey we are on.
