Annabel graduated in 1993 from Central Saint Martins with a 1st class BA hons in Illustration, however completed her degree doing automated pieces. Work experience in theatre departments followed, which led to storyboarding for film where she became interested in prosthetic make-up application. After working on numerous short independent films, Annabel was fortunate to become part of the principal make- up department with designer Jenny Shircore. She did a range of make-up from small prosthetic application to full body painting, as well as making many head and hair decorations.

Film credits include: Four Feathers (dir. Shekhar Kapur). The Good Thief (dir. Neil Jorden). Dirty Pretty Things (dir Stephen Frears). Girl with a Pearl Earring (make up for Scarlett Johanson, dir. Peter Webber). Vanity Fair (dir. Mira Nair). Phantom of the Opera (dir. Joel Schumacher). Mrs Henderson Presents (make-up for Judy Dench, dir. Stephen Frears). Theatre work: Faust, Ariadne auf Naxos, Peter Grimes (Royal Opera House, Covent Garden).

Since having a family, Annabel stopped working on film sets and returned to drawing and painting. Her work is very much influenced by her love of life drawing. More recently she has concentrated on large charcoal portraits and feels at ease working on faces, which is no doubt influenced by her film work. Annabel also enjoy capturing people in everyday situations, especially on the beach in Brazil where she is fortunate to have family.

Alongside her art, Annabel makes one off pieces of jewellery from silver sheet, designed to lie very flat on the skin like a silver tattoo. Each piece is unique due to the nature of how it is made.
