Ros works mainly in oils, often with bold brush marks, giving her work depth and meaning. The sounds, movements and colours of the sea and sky are the sources of her inspiration. Many of her seascapes are derived from some of her happiest memories aboard small yachts on blue water or chasing her children and dogs on the beach. She has always been fascinated by the changing moods of the sky, which she perceptively portrays.
After many years painting in watercolour, in the mid 1980’s she discovered the freedom of painting in oils which enabled her to express fully her personal style and character on canvas.
Ros has exhibited in London and in the south east including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. She paints mainly from photographs taken on her travels.
