Jo NIcholson

Jo graduated from Croydon College with a First class degree in Fine Art and soon based her studio at WAS . 

She has taken part in several open studios events and exhibited locally in South London . 

Specializing in hand embroidery , freestyle drawing techniques and mixed media paintings ; her method of working involves Automatic techniques and Meditation processes . 
She works both in 2D and onto 3D 'performative' clothing, shoes and hats that appear to become wearable sculptures linked visually with her sketches. 

Music plays a key role in influencing her work and triggering inspiration. Coming from many sources and often changing . At the moment Jazz and Two Tone are references . West African textiles and the paintings of Hilma AF Klint are also points of research . She takes commissions for customized clothing and shoes .
