Jane completed a Foundation Course at Central St Martins, then a BA in Drawing at Camberwell School of Art and Design.
Her drawing practice now is research driven, and concerned with the repetition and symmetries found within the natural world.
She usually draws on paper and uses ink and graphite to transform surfaces with a gradual accumulation of marks and words. These meticulous drawings often emerge very slowly.
During her last year at Camberwell Jane Dalton was Shortlisted for The Jerwood Drawing Prize in 2008 (which is now known as The Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize).
