Winter Open Studios Art Show, November 2012

The Winter Open Studios Art Show literally got off to a flying start as 70mph winds threatened to re-home our show reception marquee on the opening night. But thanks to our fantastic marquee company and the many visitors who crowded in to hear our VIP, Ken Howard RA officially open the show, we managed to keep our feet on the ground.

Ken Howard was definitely a hi-light of the 4 day show regaling the audience with stories from his artistic past that included many a well known creative or celebrity that would have had some ears burning.

Even with a rather damp Saturday our visitors remained undaunted and we were delighted to welcome over 3700 art enthusiasts (and their pets) to view behind the studio doors of 144 resident artists. Refreshed with tea and delicious cakes from the Studio’s Café visitors left with many interestingly shaped wrapped items that will definitely have kept their recipients guessing on Christmas morning.
