I grew up surrounded by the natural beauty of South Devon which has been my inspiration. The sea, the moors and the open countryside all feature heavily in my work and I find myself constantly drawn back from London to the South Hams. I hope to capture a sense of place and the feeling of the landscape with spontaneous marks and an instinctive colour palette. I use a range of mixed media to depict the ever-changing energy of the countryside. My aim is to achieve a lively, expressive style informed by an experience or a journey made with the building of layers and play of textural surfaces.
