Wimbledon Art Studios is a unique creative community based in South West London consisting of 227 individual studios providing a professionally managed creative environment for over 240 artists. We are registered under the Co-Operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014
Wimbledon Art Studios is one of the largest single site art studio complexes in Britain.
Our bespoke art studio complex comprises of two separate buildings known as the Red Studios & Blue Studios. Both art spaces provide you with affordable, secure, year round, 24 hour access, free parking, broadband WIFI, lift access, kitchens and facilities for the disabled.
The Red Studios was established in 1993 within a working paper warehouse and initially opened with 6 artists renting studio space alongside the paper business. Today, the specifically altered warehouse spans three floors providing 173 individual studio spaces of various shapes and sizes and a purpose built artist’s communal Common Room and kitchen.
Large sky light windows run the entire length of the 2nd floor roof, providing a constant source of reliable natural light throughout the day while thirteen of the ground and 1st floor studio spaces have an entire wall of natural light! This has been achieved by replacing the previous brick façade with high tech, opaque, polycarbonate, allowing maximum light as well as privacy.
The Blue Studios was purposely built in 2007 specifically as art studios. It spans four floors, providing 54 studio spaces and shared kitchenette facilities. With each studio having it’s own natural light, these offer the very best in creative studio space.
Both art studio buildings are managed by an office of dedicated staff based in the ground floor of the Red Studios.
